Klaipėda Science and Technology Park at DECOINTER seminar and partner meeting in Gdynia

2026-04-17

DECOINTER partner meeting at Gdynia

On 14 April 2026, Klaipėda Science and Technology Park participated in the DECOINTER Green Fuels Supply Chain Seminar in Gdynia. The event was hosted by Gdynia Maritime University and organised within the Interreg South Baltic Programme project DECOINTER.

Klaipėda Science and Technology Park was represented by Erika Zavackienė.

The seminar focused on the practical implementation of green energy solutions in ports. Discussions covered supply chain models, deployment scenarios, and regional conditions in the South Baltic region. Particular attention was given to the development of green fuel supply chains, including production, transport, storage, and distribution. The role of ports as energy hubs was also addressed, especially in relation to fuels such as hydrogen, methanol, ammonia, and bioLNG.

The discussions contribute to the DECOINTER project’s objective to develop a scenario-based model for green fuel value chains in seaports. The model is intended to support investment planning and decision-making processes.

For Klaipėda Science and Technology Park, these topics are directly linked to ongoing project activities. The organisation is currently preparing factsheets on the conditions and requirements for developing value chains for key alternative fuels in ports. These inputs will form part of the scenario model.

On 15 April, project partners continued their work during the DECOINTER meeting. The session focused on upcoming activities and further development of the model, as well as strengthening cooperation between ports and regional stakeholders.
