INVESTech Featured in the European Commission’s ‘Unlocking Potential’ Publication
The INVESTech project has been featured in the European Commission’s official publication, “Unlocking Potential: A Spotlight on Erasmus+ Centres of Vocational Excellence.”
This recognition highlights the project as a best-practice example in the development of transnational Centres of Vocational Excellence in the field of ICT.
This distinction confirms the value of the consortium’s joint efforts to address contemporary digital skills needs and to strengthen vocational education and training programmes at EQF levels 4–7 across the participating countries.

Roadmap for the Green and Digital Transition of VET Organisations
Innovation in the ICT sector is now intrinsically linked to sustainability. In this context, the development of the Handbook for the Green Transition of VET Organisations (Deliverable D5.1) has been successfully completed, representing a key output of the INVESTech project.
The handbook serves as a practical guide for integrating circular economy principles and reducing the environmental footprint of education and training institutions. It is addressed to learners, educators, and administrative staff, focusing on specific areas of action:
- Training Programmes: Integrating green skills and sustainability principles into technology-related curricula.
- Infrastructure: Reducing waste and promoting the efficient management of water and energy resources within VET institutions.
- Sustainable Mobility: Encouraging environmentally friendly transportation choices.
- Partnerships: Developing joint initiatives with local authorities, community stakeholders, and businesses.
The implementation of the handbook is already being supported through national activities and transnational workshops organised by the project partners, including the recent Transnational Workshop held in Athens. These initiatives aim to facilitate the operational transformation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) towards a sustainable and digitally driven future.
From Concept to Market: Hackathons and Applied Innovation
The INVESTech Hackathons transforming ICT theory into real-world solutions for society and businesses while connecting learners with the labour market, continue with DIGI4all Hackathon organised by Klaipeda science and technology park in Lithuania.
8 student teams, supported by 11 mentors, developed digital solutions promoting social inclusion and sustainability.
The impact was immediate, as several innovative ideas received financial offers from organisations interested in supporting their implementation.
Cyprus (June 2026) is next to organise Hackathon & Pitching Day, focusing on accessibility. Through these initiatives INVESTech demonstrates that education can generate applied innovation with tangible social and economic impact.
Mapping the Future: Gaps in Cutting-Edge Technologies
Information forms the foundation of every innovation. INVESTech strategically invests in mapping the real needs of the labour market by identifying emerging skill gaps in the fields of ICT and sustainability.
Through targeted interviews with international experts, such as the specialist Viktoras Pallikaras (podcast), the project collects valuable data on cutting-edge technologies.
This knowledge enables partners and Centres of Vocational Excellence to adapt their curricula in real time, ensuring that education and training respond effectively to the evolving demands of the digital economy.
Empowering the ICT Ecosystem: Education at EQF Levels 4–7
INVESTech strategically invests in upskilling and reskilling initiatives at EQF levels 4–7, strengthening both students and educators in the ICT sector.
Within this framework, a “Training on Entrepreneurship for VET Teachers and Trainers” was held in Athens (22–24 April 2026) by IDEC S.A. Educators from the 5 participating countries collaborated on the European EntreComp framework, aiming to integrate entrepreneurial thinking and creativity into ICT curricula.
Through similar initiatives, bootcamps, and the use of micro-credentials, the project bridges the skills gap and equips the workforce to meet the demands of the 4th and 5th Industrial Revolutions.
