The Stena Line rail ferry is one of the last remaining train ferries in operation, allowing rail freight trains to roll directly onto a ferry for seamless transit across the Baltic between Rostock (Germany) and Trelleborg (Sweden). Given the risks associated with disruptions on the Great Belt Bridge and the increasing need for resilient transport corridors – especially in the wake of Sweden joining NATO – this ferry route holds strategic significance, including for military logistics.
This webinar highlights the opportunities rail ferry lines may bring to the intermodal freight sector, and the interlink between continental Europe and Scandinavia, by offering a seamless rail and sea solution for transporting both transport units and rolling stock.
